I love all my clients but am really thankful to those who take a few minutes to put their thoughts down and send it to me.
Thanks Zarqa.

13 miles marathon completed !!!

So those of you following the blog, remember me mentioning about training for a marathon. Well this Sunday I was there and completed it. I feel great. Could have I done better in terms of the time I completed it, yes I could've. Next time around will be better that this time. Congratulations to me !!!

Education..

Recently I had a an opportunity to go to one of Dane Sanders talks. He is the author of 'Fast Track photographer'. Glad that I was there. Thanks Dane for the inspiring evening.

A quick iphone picture that I had taken.

I WAS THERE... INAUGURATION DAY

So we battled the odds, rather the cold I should say and met some of our closest 2 million friends. Long lines welcomed us everywhere. We went to the concert as well, listening to U2 for free was the highlight as well. And ofcourse the inauguration day was great and so was the parade for which we patiently waited to start.
Even though I'm from eastern Canada, I have never stayed outside for as many hours as I did at the inaugural, realized that I'm not used to the cold anymore.

We were lucky enough to get the last tour of the capital on Saturday before they shut it for a secure lock down before the inauguration.

The cold D.C streets.

My husband attempting to take a picture with my DSLR. Some day, I'm going to have to give him some basic lessons on using the camera

Thursday

Zarqa's mehendi

Zarqa's mehendi was very festive. I had a great time photographing this colorful event.  I couldn't help but admire all the little details that Zarqa had worked on. Her mother was very sweet and very emotional on this special day. Also, I had a chance to meet her dad and he is an adorable man.
High-five Zarqa, on your beautiful Mehendi rasam.

A quick picture of me and Zarqa on my iphone. Thanks Dr.J for taking it .

1/2 Marathon = 13 miles

A few days ago, if you would've asked me what half a marathon meant, I couldn't have answered it. Thanks to a dear friend, who has encouraged me, I plan to run half a marathon ( 13 MILES ) in early Feb 2009.

Every so often, I've experienced moments of wanting to be active, but most often these urges have settled down with a quick trip to a sports store where I bought some athletic clothes, felt good by spending the money and never gotten around to the real deal.

I plan to stick my training and be in my training pants every week and of course drag my friend along with me. I am keen on not falling sick or taking any time off from the training. Since I've never run a marathon before, every day is crucial. If I actually complete this endeavor, I will post it here.

Thank you to my friend for pushing me and running with me everyday. We'll be inching our way to the finish line, but we should make it. (or so I hope!)

Time for some inspiration : Fauja Singh is a 98 year old who runs marathons. He was the face for Adidas's marketing campaign in 2004. Back then he had replaced David Beckham as Adidas's poster boy.
